Event Details

To comply with social distancing guidelines and for the safety of our guests, staff, and volunteers, we are open for timed, self-guided tours only.

To tour the house, you must book a tour time before arriving. Each tour is limited to 8 guests. You may be on a tour with other visitors, and you will need to follow social distancing guidelines. You must wear a mask while inside the house.

A docent will greet you, give you an introduction, and be available to answer questions. Your admission includes a 24-page tour booklet.

By booking a tour, you also receive access to our temporary exhibit, "When All God's Children Get Together: The Lives and Music of African American People in Far Western North Carolina."

Your time in the house is limited to one hour so as to leave time for staff to disinfect and clean before and after your visit.

You may also call 828-253-9231 or email education@wnchistory.org to reserve your tour spot. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis.
