Description

Great Food, Music, and People The original Isis Theatre was built in 1937 and screened its last film in 1957. We, as a family, have restored Isis and made this historic theatre into what is now Kitchen 743 @ Isis Music Hall. We hope to bring back what Isis was originally, a place that brought people together and entertained the community. And with that, a place that has great energy, even better food, local and regional music to get down to and just a good spot for a neighborhood hang. There were a number of Isis Theaters built during the 30s around the country. During the 30s - many folks had a fascination with Greek and Egyptian architecture (thus the birth of the art-deco period.) Isis was an ancient Egyptian goddess. :: Isis was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans and the downtrodden, but she also listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats and rulers. Isis is also known as protector of the dead and goddess of children. We chose to keep the name of the original theater for which the building was originally built. It's historic.
