You are welcome and invited to join us for a celebratory full moon cacao ceremony! The ceremony will be followed by a short dance lab where we will experiment with different movement techniques and then flow into a bassy, flowy and eclectic ecstatic dance with dj elowan.
Doors will lock at 7:15 pm, you’re welcome to arrive starting at 6:45 pm. Fyi street parking is free after 6 pm downtown.
Capacity limited to 25, this will probably sell out!
What is cacao ceremony? What is ecstatic dance??
A cacao ceremony is a moment in time where we stop, slow down, tune in and connect with the medicine of the cacao plant - theobroma cacao - the plant from which chocolate is derived. Theobroma literally means "Food of the gods. The active ingredient "Theobromine" physically opens the blood vessels, gives a boost of energy and cacao is thought to open the heart and create feelings of euphoria. We will drink a ceremonial dose of cacao (about 45 grams of chocolate!) and share a moment of sacred intention.
Ecstatic dance is a movement practice where you are invited to move your body in any way you want without judgement. The music will go in a wave, starting mellow and building faster and faster before slowing down again. Ecstatic dance is an opportunity to drop into your body, to let it move you, and to express in whatever way you please. The main guidelines are 1) no talking (to support people to move from their minds into their bodies) and 2) no shoes!
The ceremony will be held at the "Tea temple" at the high climate tea company in downtown asheville. The beautiful ambiance and plant life offer an amazing space to come together with community to create new connections and foster old ones. We will be having weekly ceremony events on tuesdays going forward, so check them out!

3/21 - new moon cacao ceremony, authentic relating, and sound healing
3/28 - men's circle tea ceremony
Two volunteers are needed, see volunteer ticket on the ticket page, you pay a deposit and I return it to you after you volunteer. Volunteers are expected to show up at 6:15 pm and stay until 10:15 pm.
If you're experiencing financial difficulties, please reach out to talk to us for work exchange or other options. Discounts and scholarships especially available for bipoc communities.
